Dreaming of Rafe Totes

I was having my follow-up check-up at the Shangri-la's Healthway Clinic last time, and I was happy to have the chance to window shop at the mall again. Of course, it wouldn't be complete without me cheking on the bags on display around.

My attention was most especially caught by the bags designed by our very own pride, the New York-based designer RafÄ“ (Raffy Totengco) totes and bags. I really like his designs. They are just comparable to those famous designer bags and he doesn't forget to incorporate it with Pinoy-touch. So this time, I opt to support his designs to show personally how proud I am of our own. So, what better way to achieve it is to start saving up already. I hope to have one of his pretty totes soon. ;-) Here's a peek of his designs, and I bet you're gonna drool. I would love to have at least one, but having more would be better but, one at a time (hahah!). Paging, hubby-honey!;-) If you're a bag-lover like me, I'm sure you'll wish to have a piece of these and even more. Let's go bag-shopping! Ooops, for me it's still saving up period, hahah!

My LV Bag Story

Being a self-confessed bag-lover, I’ve also wanted a Louis Vuitton bag just like other women who share the same interest as I am. But my most wanted bag among their bags, has always been the Speedy 30. I was just so happy  when I went to a bazaar where this was on sale, and I was like, that must be for me. It’s pre-loved, but the overall look was still okay, no torn parts. I just needed to cover it’s handle because it was already dark brown due to sweat (acid) and probably dust. My solution was to put a twillies on it which I’ve had it made at an alteration shop and once I wrapped its handle, I found it even better. The perfect way to break its monotony. Curious how much I got it? Well, I got it for only 13K, cheap enough compared to the brand-new and the other pre-owned ones I’ve seen. It is going on its 5th year in my care already, and I only had it’s slider leather changed, that’s it, no major restoration yet. I consider this my wisest buy among my bags and I am so proud about it.

One of my Dream Bags

Being a lover of fashion, my top favorite is bags. I don’t know why, but, since I can’t leave the house without one, I make sure, they go well with my get-up. Ooops, don’t think of me as someone who’s always well-dressed like a fashion model, I just want the colors I wear to be well-coordinated. That way, it doesn’t always have to be pricey, but it looks so put-together.

I’ve always dreamed of having a Tory Burch tote and I am so happy that hubby has gifted me with one when I went to a bazaar the other weekend. I liked it the moment I saw it on display. Well, orange is one of my newest fave colors, so there. What’s so touching about having this is, hubby has finally realized and understood my being a bag-addict, and I must say, he’s now a changed man (hahah!). When he asked me how it feels to have that bag, I replied, “it’s the same feeling when you got your DSLR.” And we both laughed. It’s really not the price, but, it’s really the meaning, the thought and the happiness that goes along with the pricey presents.

Keeping it Organized

For me, being a bag lover doesn't only end in acquiring few bags in order to enjoy having them. I'm not only after its outside purpose for making me look better, but I'm more into having my stuff really organized. Thanks to my former boss and friend, Arlette, (again) for having introduced to me those bag organizers.

Since they come in different sizes, with compartments, depending on which bag you're going to use it, I have 3 bag organizers to date, and I find it very useful.

Bags Make Great Presents

Being a woman, I am so in love with bags and it started when my former job of six years did not provide us with office uniforms and wanted us to wear corporate attire. I wanted to look in color coordinates when it comes to my clothes, bags and shoes. Oh, these don’t have to be branded and expensive, the color and style matter more to me. I’ve already resigned but my love for bags and purses have never disappeared so I am always glad whenever I receive bags as presents just like the ones in photo.

The cloth flower designed bag (reversible) is from my dear friend, Lynn, the RL mini bag is from my cousin Carmel, the Tommy purse from my dear friend, Gianna and the stripes is from my wedding’s godfather, Fruto Jr. Thanks to all of them When it’s a bag, I really get to use it. So for me, bags are also practical presents because they could be fashionably useful.

How About Animal-Printed Fashion Pieces?

If you ask me what my favorite color is, I’d always say it’s blue. It really is, but, one day, I was surprised when a friend told me that it’s brown and I was wearing brown shades that time. Then I paused and thought what she said it, and it made me realized that most of my stuffs has a touch of brown. I just smiled and said, it’s probably what my subconscious fave shade is. For me, brown is a practical color. Being an earth tone, for me, it’s so easy to pair with especially if you’re into mixing and matching and even easier to accentuate. My latest brown possessions are my animal-printed inspired bag and a pair of earrings as well. I just noticed that animal prints are IN these days, from the clothes, accessories down to undies, and that’s when I decided to get these two.

How about you, do you have any stuff with animal prints, too? Aren’t they cute? I usually use this bag whenever I’m wearing shades of brown especially the footwear and when I’m wearing plain top, too. The earrings are used when my top is in plain yellow, white, black or brown. I just love trying to break the monotony in my total look.
