Just so Excited

Aside from being busy lately, I have been so excited about hubby's coming home, because we will have a lot of events to celebrate and attend to. First, we will be celebrating Rem's 8th birthday, then we will be busy preparing for Samar.First of, we will drop by Guiuan to visit my uncle Monsi, then we'll go to Sulangan, then we will me attending my high school Alma Mater's (St. Mary's Borongan) Alumni Homecoming where hubby's batch is the sponsor. And last, but, probably not the least, we will be there until the town Fiesta...Wow, how about that? It's been years since I last spent fiesta there. All in all, we will be in Samar for over a week. As the song goes, "I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!" This is just exactly how I am feeling now. But of course, most importantly, we will be spending another quality-time as a family. Thank you, Lord, for times like these.

Foot Pampering with Other Mommy Friends

Our feet is one of the most important part of our body, yet, taken for granted the most sometimes. With a bit of a guilt about not taking care of my feet that way it deserve, I was so excited when we (with my blogger friends) planned for a foot spa (we called it SPArty without food in the venue hahah!) at Nail-a-Holics in SM Markina where we are all closest to. We were the very first and the only customers that Saturday, during the first couple of hours, so it felt like we reserved the whole salon.

I, myself, had an additional Paraffin treatment for an improved blood circulation according to the therapist. Once the whole treatment was done, which included a midnight blue nail polish, it felt really girly and relaxed. I just hate the oily feel of the quick dry polish that was applied lastly, so I had to wipe it with a tissue paper often. After our spa treatment, we had lunch at Seafood Island then, last stop was at Starbucks. It was as if we never wanted to go home because we just had so much fun sharing a lot of stories, mostly, funny. It had been a superb weekend with my dear mommy friends. We haven’t talked about our next reunion yet, but it’s always something to look forward to. How about you, do you get to spend quality get-together regularly with your friends? I hope you do.  

We Were at Marga's 7th Birthday

Rem turned 7 last August and that means, all her classmates are of her age, too. Most of them have parties and she gets invited sometimes. Being the mom, and the only caregiver she's got, I always get to go with her and have fun, too. Well, that's just one of the perks of being a mom. :-) We've been to different parties already since last year up to now (and counting)...Last Sunday, was her classmate, Marga’s 7^th birthday, and we were there.

For me, this was a party that was well-thought of which obviously showed the main purpose of showcasing Marga's love for dancing, for Barbie, cupcakes and anything fancy for a seven year old. It was also a well supported party where her family and friends rendered intermission numbers to make the whole event a lot more exciting and fun. It was a kiddie party, yes, but they also made sure adults enjoyed it as well: the food, the program and the games, too. Marga will surely cherish the fun memories her 7th birthday gave her…I can only imagine how grand her 18th birthday will be.:-) I'm ending this post with a wish for Marga to stay as a happy girl that she is, and that her parents' dreams for her and her own dreams all come true. Sale it, Love it!

What I love about each New Year are those ongoing sale on different malls, the many shops including those apparel shops. I always look forward to it and make sure I get to shop few pieces for me and even for my daughter, Rem. Most shops go on sale until the first week of February, so there is really a lot of time to check and buy. The  only question is the budget. But since the sale go as low as 70% off on some items, I’m sure anybody could grab something for themselves. For this year, I've gotten myself a couple of tops from Plains & Prints at 50% off which totaled to P800.00 only. Not bad, right? My rule when it comes to sale is by not getting pieces that are trendy, but, go with classic pieces. Something that will always be in at any time. Are you also a bazaar and sale addict like me? For me, there's nothing wrong with it, in fact, it's being a practical shopper.

Whenever hubby is home, we make sure we go out on a date. This time, our daughter Rem is already okay with it. She didn't insist on coming with us, and never got upset having been left home. Thanks to my brother, Dennis for babysitting for us:) W on the bar’s name stands for Wil (Willie Revillame). Yes, his bar is finally open and I’m so glad for having been able to experience this first class bar in town. Wil Tower is exactly located at #30 Sgt. Esguerra, Quezon City.

It was just this past Saturday, and the members of Wil Time Bigtime Show were almost complete for a celebration before they get into their new time slot the following week. We were so happy to have seen them up close and personal, those sexy and pretty dancers, its hosts, including Wil, and the rest of his staff. I’m sure I’ll be back to this cozy bar…I hope it happens soon.

Stuffs From the Bag Raid

I’ve previously posted about the bag raid I did on my big sister’s (Loida) luggage when she came home last summer and I am now finally showing you the items I got. These includes the ones that she personally handed to me.

I’ve got few clothes, around 10 (blouses and shirts), 2 red purses, a wrist watch, rubber sandals, make-ups and swimming cover-ups. It was so funny because when she saw me afterwards, she told me that some of the clothes I got were really hers, but, I told her, “sorry, you should have taken it out first before you let me choose.” As a generous sister as always, when it comes to things like these, she just smiled.

Receiving things from her is always a delight. Not only that I’ve got new girly stuffs, it makes me feel like the little sister that is loved. Thanks again, inse!!!

Cetaphil: My Gentle Facial Cleanser

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for almost 4-years now, but being just home most of the time, doesn’t mean I’d give up about taking care of myself, particularly my face. For someone like me who loves putting on make-up, a great facial cleanser should be part of my daily facial care routine.

Since I’m not gifted with a good skin, but a sensitive one, I had to look for a facial cleanser that is notharsh on my skin. I heard from a friend who’s a Pediatrician who uses nothing but Cetaphil as her facial cleanser and I tried it myself, too. For a first-timer, I got the biggest bottle already. I just depended on my gut-feel that it will work well on me since it says: Gentle Skin Cleanser (For all skin types). Thanks, heavens, it works. I love its texture for it’s non-sticky. And here’s the catch, it can be used without needing water. It has to be applied on the face, and gently wipe it with a soft cloth or cotton. Perfect for those late nights facial cleansing, right? My first bottle is almost consumed, and I’m already off to my next one...How about you, what’s your facial cleanser? If you want to try something that’s truly gentle, Cetaphil would be best. I would also love to try their moisturizer and will post about it again once I get to try it.

Dressing Up for Hong Kong - Macau Tour

It was my first time to be out of the country (Philippines) for a tour, and what made it so ecstatic was spending it with my hubby and daughter, Rem. We were 4-days and 3-nights all in all in Hong Kong with a side trip to Macau and for me, it was just perfect. Prior to being on tour, few preparations were made and that included the what to wear clothes while on tour.

I had to check on the climate there, thanks to the internet. I then told myself that this was going to be a “no jeans tour”. Why? Since we would have long walks, it is best to be in soft pants or leggings and even a dress. For a dress, I got a denim maxi dress. We would laugh at it because I was like imitating some Korean ladies who were well-dressed while walking around, and some had their luggage in tow. But believe me, it was the most comfy feel I got. Tank tops and sleeveless were my must-haves with scarves in my bag all the time just in case it gets chilly or we get into an air-conditioned establishment. I would also like to give credit to my very comfy footwear, an Aldo rubber sandals which my sister Loida gave me last summer. That's the only footwear I brought and used during this entire trip.  I would say, I was able to prepare so well and managed to feel being fab and in fashion (wink,wink*).

Having this experience, I am now more ready to go on another tour except that I don’t have a budget for it, yet. I’d like to end this post by expressing my heartfelt thanks to my Honey, for having approved of this as our birthday present for Rem as she turns 7 (August 23) and to GOD up above, for having provided us with all the resources and having watched over us during the entire tour.

A Sunshiny 50th Wedding Anniversary

It was Mina's (one of my best-friends back in college) parents 50th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday (August 11, 2011), and I was so glad to have been able to make it, with Rem in tow. I used to stay in their house over weekends or for weeks during summer when we were still in college. It's been awhile since I last visited them, and nothing has changed, they're still fun and accommodating.

Since it’s been raining a week before the said wedding, it was such a great view to have seen the family wear their beautiful wedding attire in sunshine yellow color: all ladies in yellow and men in classic barong with yellow undershirt. I even said, it is definitely a sunshine after the rain. They all looked elegant and classy with their dresses, and even in photos, they really are. The golden couple wore classic beige which I think was just right. Having been a frequent house-guest, I would say that it was a wedding their parents deserve. The reception followed at a private resort, it was a pool party which made the kids really enjoy like my Rem. With that, I decided that we spend the night there which surely made her the happiest kid again. I hope we could visit them again when Mina gets home for another vacation. Thanks again for the invite, and good health and continued happiness to Nanay Fely and Tatay Paco! More blessings to the family.

My Other Honey

Staying up late for three consecutive nights has finally taken its toll on me. With the cold weather and the busy days that I’ve had, it made the flu so easy to hit me. It was a different flu that I experienced, in fact, it was the first of its kind that I had. I felt all the symptoms except the fever, which I considered an advantage because I don’t have a maid at the moment. With that, I had to ask help from my neighbors, Joy and Beverly and my niece, Charisse, for some tasks needed.

Thanks also to my ever-reliable Manuka Honey which I consider my other honey, for it made me feel better soon. This served as my natural antibiotic and it’ really effective. This is available at Healthy Options which are at different malls in the country.

Weekend with Grade-school Buddies

As I always say, batch reunions are really fun, not only that you get to see each other again, but since most of the stories are about younger days, it kind of makes us all feel young again. Of course, we also get updated about how everyone is doing, and a start of keeping in touch with all who are present gets established. As usual, thanks to social media for making it a lot easier to reach .It was last July 29 when our friend-cum-classmate, Efren, who is based in California has treated out for dinner (till morning) for a get-together. Though I helped out in organizing it, I’d like to give credit to him for sharing his time and money (of course!) just to have some fun with us.

So, where did we go and what we did? We started out with a dinner at Mr. Choi Kitchen (restaurant) at the Robinson’s Gallleria which is adjacent to the Crowne Plaza Hotel where they were staying. Then we went to the Red Box in Eastwood Mall to have some singing (picture will follow) until 12midnight. Still wanting for more since Ada arrived at around 11:00PM, we went to a bar along Eastwood’s walk of fame, had some drinks and chit-chat then we went to Starbucks for coffee and more chit-chat.:-) We enjoyed it so much that the possibility of having an annual reunion might even be possible, right, Sherilyn? This happened on a weekend and I would say, it was indeed a happy weekend, and Efren deserve a big-time Thank You, for making it always possible to bring old friends together. It’s really those young yet great friendships that makes it all merry and exciting. Thanks so much to you and Jaimee (with Jaira), of course, for having joined you and supported you every time. Thanks also to the ones who made it: Rhoda, Sherilyn, and Ada. I hope, there’ll be more attendees next time. Hooray, to LCES batch ’88!!!

How About Working Again?

I’ve been thinking so hard since last week about working again. By Monday, I was busy browsing jobstreet.com already. I loved what I discovered, and I’m already excited about it. I’m off to my first job interview by Friday, and I’m hoping I’ll get the job.

My only worry is my daughter Rem, and the office attire again. With Rem, since I’ve been slowly opening this up to her, I think, she’s slowly accepting the idea, in fact, she wants to visit me in my office already saying that she’ll bring me food in case I’m already hungry (really sweet). Clothes, of course! Having been a stay-at-home mom for almost five years, it didn’t entail me to have plenty of clothes. I hope that the company that I’d get in to wouldn’t be so strict with its dress-code, and most of all, I really hope this had been worth the long wait for me. Wish me luck! (wink*wink*)

My Bag Raid Experience

I get to watch bag raids on TV, when the lifestyle or talk show host would raid the celebrity’s purse to check what they have. Sometimes, it’s the whole walk-in closet that they show on TV. Mine was bag raid in a sense that my big sister Loida who had a vacation last summer, opened her luggage to me, and let me choose what I wanted, and this was in exemption of my pre-ordered items from her as her pasalubong. Wow!!!

I was so happy and she was laughing at how much I got. Few clothes were really hers, brand new at that, but, she was not able to do anything the moment I asked for it already. I am such a spoiled little sistah – just kidding. The items I took were not diamond-priced, but it’s the love for each other among the two of us that’s really priceless. With the many items that I got, I haven’t had the chance to take photos of it. But, ‘will definitely post about it for you to see how much of a lucky bag raid day it was. I hope that it will be that way, whenever she comes home.

My Passion for Fashion

Ever since I started blogging, I haven't really considered making one that tackles fashion. Who does not want to look nice? For me, looking nice is not really about being fashionable all the time, but if you could be both, that would be perfect.

I am not a certified fashionista, I should say, but I would love to share what little I know and all the things I learn along the way in this department. I am just so happy and excited that I am finally doing this. I just love wearing and putting on things that makes me feel good and comfortable. It is just my way of feeling more confident about myself. So, see you around as I venture on this new subject called: Fashion.
