Bling-bling for Kids

                                 

I am already on my second month in making bling-blings, and I am so glad about it. I am now into making personalized blings, hoping to cater kids, too. Though beaded bracelets are also nice for kids, it is still cute when they’re on chain (metal bracelets and necklaces). Since kids could easily lost accessories, it is best to train them by wearing the fake ones yet, but, still classy. I’ve got here few samples of the blings I’ve made for kids. My bestseller at the moment is the watch-like strapped bracelet with their names on it. I’ve got a funny story about the latest buyer who happens to be a dear friend. According to her, her three girls were so happy about their bracelets, but, the youngest daughter exchanged her bracelet to her big sister, since hers is only a 3-lettered name while her sister consists of 6-letters - cute! 

A Pair of Earrings for an Elegant Look

When it comes to accessorizing, I am not okay without a pair of earrings. I can leave home without any other jewels or accessories, but not without a pair of studs. I just feel that I am not in my complete package when I don't wear one. This all started when I got so conscious of how big my ear-lobes are, the bottom part. With that, I even became picky with the kind of style I can accessorize my ears with. Since then, I've always preferred studs, in fact, I've got imitation diamond earrings of different cuts which I love the most. These type of earrings kind of minimize the size of my ear-lobe, as compared to danglings or those so called, chandelier earrings that has the tendency to pull the ear-lobes down and makes it look stretched and bigger. With studs, which are basically styled with simplicity and beauty, one can always look elegant. But fashionizing is also about wearing the right accessories that will make one look at its best depending on the occasion and ones mood. With studs, I can easily fit in. For now, I still don’t own a pair of diamond earrings, but, I am of course dreaming of owning even just a pair in the future, and be able to feel having how great it is to have that famous girls’ bestfriend, too.

Organizing my Accessories

Having a small place has its advantages and disadvantages when it comes to keeping my stuffs. One advantage is, it is easier to do because it doesn’t entail too much energy, while one disadvantage is, I’m forced to look for proper organizers so my stuffs won’t cause the whole place to be messy. This goes also to keeping my accessories, and thank God for those organizers of different sizes and shapes that makes life easier;-).

The earrings are kept in this box (bottom right) with separators and placed in a small drawer while the other two for necklaces and bangles are hanged in the cabinet. That way, it’s easier to look for them. It makes me feel good when I see things in order, which reminds me of a couple of friends who consider me an O.C (obsessive-compulsive) hahah! But, gladly it’s not a disorder, but making my life in order, instead.  

Bracelets for Health and Fashion

I am such a bracelet fan. Among the jewels, I always say that rings and bracelets/bangles are my top favorites. Though it’s not always safe to wear those real ones here in the city, I am happy and content with my different types of accessories, mostly fake, glad it’s kind of in these days, and only few real ones that I seldom wear. I used to have the stainless bracelet years ago, and I liked it because it could go well with any attire I’d wear. I can't find it anymore having moved a few times already. Now, I’m eyeing to have these magnetic bracelets  for me and hubby, because it’s not only an accessory, but also beneficial to health. I remember my former boss who happens to be Chinese was always wearing a magnetic bracelet, and according to my colleagues, he has gone a heart surgery before. To me, he looked okay, so I’m convinced that the magnetic bracelet really helps. Though I’m sure he may be taking other health supplements,  there’s nothing wrong also to wear something fashionable and with health benefits at the same time. I’d go for the two-tone, with gold end, while hubby could have the plain magnetic stainless steel. I can’t wait to wear this. Yes, to fashion, much more to good health!

Cocktail Rings for a Bling

Among the jewelries I always say that my favorite would be the ring. But it’s only now that it would include cocktail rings as well. I just find this chunky bling edgy yet elegant. When I look someone wearing one, may she be a celebrity or just a regular person, I can’t help but smile with admiration. And owning these two rings was not a shock for me anymore. Are you into cocktail rings, too? It’s so nice to try on new things and see how it would make you feel. These two costs over P200.00 only. Well, for me, fashion need not be expensive, it’s just a matter of putting things together well, which means, color combination and being able to carry with confidence whatever you are wearing.

Keeping it Organized

For me, being a bag lover doesn't only end in acquiring few bags in order to enjoy having them. I'm not only after its outside purpose for making me look better, but I'm more into having my stuff really organized. Thanks to my former boss and friend, Arlette, (again) for having introduced to me those bag organizers.

Since they come in different sizes, with compartments, depending on which bag you're going to use it, I have 3 bag organizers to date, and I find it very useful.

Scarves for Men

Being a scarf-lover, I also admire men wearing one. For me, you’ve got to really be into fashion to be able to hit it off quite well. Some guys don’t want putting on too much, they want being carefree all the time, thus, having a scarf for an accent is so admirable for me. So when I see an ordinary guy who’s into accessorizing, I find that person vain and fashionable. Of course, just like women's fashion, it's also about how they carry themselves.

Candy-looking Capiz Earrings

I do love accessorizing, and I am just so happy that nowadays, there are more choices already. Accessories need not be so pricey and could not always be real jewelries anymore. In fact, there are cute ones that are made of plastics, brass, bronze, etc. I have this favorite local shop called "Atin Ito" (This is Ours) where they sell different products using locally available materials. They've got bags, shirts, scarves, and accessories all artistically done to represent nation's natural resources. I’ve been a regular buyer of this shop and one of the best finds I’ve got are my Capiz earrings. Capiz as defined by www.freedictionary.com, is a marine bivalve common in Philippine coastal waters characterized by a large thin translucent shell.



These earrings had been tinted but it still obvious what it’s made from. I love how lightweight it is, and the of course, the colors that looks like sweet candies.

Feeling Young With my New Timepiece

My daughter is only 6y/o and I never thought that I'd be sharing accessories with her already. Hair accessories were first, but recently, I've just acquired this Mickey Mouse chunky watch from her. This was a Christmas present to her this past Yuletide season, but as a kid, she didn't like it because according to her, "it has no numbers".(LOL)

Being a timepiece lover myself, I immediately thought of using it instead of just keeping it. Besides, it says the correct time. This originally had a yellow strap with Mickey Mouse prints so I decided to change it to a red leather straps to make it more appropriate for my age. Chunky-faced watches are also a craze these days, so it made me all the more like wearing this, and for sure, it makes me look younger. Wearing this is really fun, not only that it makes me feel that we're close as mom-and-daughter, I also feel young, and in fashion with it. I just have to get used to Rem telling our friends that it's her watch I'm wearing, that she only gave it to me (LOL).

How About Animal-Printed Fashion Pieces?

If you ask me what my favorite color is, I’d always say it’s blue. It really is, but, one day, I was surprised when a friend told me that it’s brown and I was wearing brown shades that time. Then I paused and thought what she said it, and it made me realized that most of my stuffs has a touch of brown. I just smiled and said, it’s probably what my subconscious fave shade is. For me, brown is a practical color. Being an earth tone, for me, it’s so easy to pair with especially if you’re into mixing and matching and even easier to accentuate. My latest brown possessions are my animal-printed inspired bag and a pair of earrings as well. I just noticed that animal prints are IN these days, from the clothes, accessories down to undies, and that’s when I decided to get these two.

How about you, do you have any stuff with animal prints, too? Aren’t they cute? I usually use this bag whenever I’m wearing shades of brown especially the footwear and when I’m wearing plain top, too. The earrings are used when my top is in plain yellow, white, black or brown. I just love trying to break the monotony in my total look.

Bang-bang Bangles!

Nowadays, genuine jewels are already very expensive, and for someone like me who just loves to accessorize, it is such a relief that I could resort to less expensive accessories and still manage to look nice. I have a few bangles these days and I just love wearing them without any fuss.

Among my collection, the most expensive one is at P200.00 or about a little over $4. Cheap right? What's so good about these is when someone compliments it. To me, that's the real bonus. My fashion tips on this would be: it should make you feel comfortable wearing one considering the texture and the sizes, should go well with your clothes or total look, and plain ones would be nice when wearing colored or printed clothes and vise-versa. So, are you ready to bang the bangles, too?

How About a Mustard Wallet?

My old MUNDI (brand) wallet had a rip on its side. I loved it so much because of its soft leather and the chocolate brown color. I tried to save it by trying to have it sewn at Mr. Quickie, but the staff told me that their thread would be too obvious in the outside and it wouldn’t look as nice anymore. Being such an O-C (obsessive compulsive) with my things especially my wallet and its content, I’ve been looking for a better replacement for it. I’ve tried at SM, but I did not find something that fits my criteria.

How I choose a wallet:

• genuine leather but soft
• classic but stylish
• it should be long
• can keep few cards (ATM)
• should be lightweight
• color should be with a touch of brown
• there should be enough space for coins
• with few compartments to hold important receipts

Having fallen in love with my old MUNDI wallet, I decided to check it at Rustan’s again. I was supposed to get the same style as my ripped one but they didn’t have stock anymore. When it comes to this, my budget is only up to P1000.00, I consider this one a wise buy at P895.00. And the color, oh, mustard is just so nice to look at.

How about you, are you a wallet-lover just like me? Would you believe that I just realized that this is something that I should buy myself? I just like trying it first if I would be able to use and flap it with ease. I just think that this is something that makes me feel lady-like whenever I’m using it.:-)

The Versatile Scarves

Being in a tropical country, scarves are must-haves for me. Why? Because when I'm literally outside, it's just so hot that I'm only in tank tops most of the time. But since going to the mall is my most common way of having fun with my daughter, I make sure I bring a scarf with me since it's already cold there due to the aircon.

To date, I have only 4 scarves and I really find it very versatile. Aside from that, it's trendy, and it's easy to bring because it's not bulky compared to a sweater or jacket. When it comes to its storage, I just hang them in one hanger.





There are a few ways scarves can be used, that's why I call them versatile. It could be used as:

* an accent on your clothes
* a headband
* a bag accent
* a swimwear cover-up at the beach
* a belt and more...

Scarves have different sizes and textures. You may choose anything that would suit your need. When it comes to colors, I usually use printed ones in contrast with the plain clothing or bag, but I make sure that the prints would in a way jive with the color of the item I want to accentuate with.
